Good News For Flashy Martial Arts Web Sites!

Thursday, July 3rd 2008 @ 5:29 PM    post viewed 1546 times

In a world filled with fancy Martial Arts Web Sites, there was one hero that stood out...

If you've got one of those fancy animated FLASH intros on your Martial Arts web site, you probably didn't know that until recently your animation couldn't get indexed by search engines. This meant that your animation was basically "search engine unfriendly" and didn't contribute to your search engine rankings unless it was part of a greater optimized web page.

Let me explain it this way, if a great part of your site contained nothing but FLASH, then you had a greater chance of landing an effective spinning back kick while wearing slippery shoes, while standing on a bar of soap on a vinyl tiled floor covered with vegetable oil than you would getting a top 10 rank for your site in Google.

Well Adobe (the company that owns FLASH technology) is working hard to take care of this problem.

"Designers and Web developers have long been frustrated that search engines couldn’t better access the information within their content created with Flash technology. It’s great to see Adobe and the search engines working directly together to improve the situation,” said Danny Sullivan, editor-in-chief, SearchEngineLand.com. “The changes should help unlock information that’s previously been ‘invisible’ and will likely result in a better experience for searchers.”

This means potentially more visits for you and a greater opportunity to educate new student prospects with content rich animation.

Just imagine search engines filled with YOUR FLASH tutorials, FLASH videos and FLASH audios that prospective students can find while searching through Google, Yahoo! and other search facilities.

The key is to make proper use of your flash animation and  not just try to dazzle prospects with Hollywood-level special effects.

Instead of dazzle, try to inform.

Tell prospective students about your school and how it can change their lives. Let them know about upcoming events and use it to invite them. This is a major part of the conversion process.

When used right FLASH can really be more than just a quick eye catcher, it can be used to educate and build trust.

As a Breakthrough! Groups member, you will learn a lot more about the best ways to use FLASH and multimedia on your site. Just stay tuned and stay informed.
